Loving The Life You Lead?

It’s one of those cool things to realize that you have complete power and control over your life, your decisions, your choices and your destiny. Getting to that point can sometimes be more challenging.

As a huge proponent of Loving The Life You Lead, I am absolutely committed to assisting others in doing the same. Here’s a few tips to get you started on getting really passionate about what you do…

Find Your Passion – It’s surprising that so many folks are not clear on what it is that they’re passionate about.
Socialize With People You Want To Be Like – If you can’t find them in person, read biographies of people who have done things you find inspiring, have achieved a goal you want to achieve or who have characteristics you want to possess.
Treat Yourself – Human beings love being treated… so it’s important to feel treated! Now, even on a shoestring budget you can treat yourself and make yourself feel special.
Visualize and talk about your future life as if it’s already yours. You’re not lying! You’re creating certainty in doing this!
Contribute To Others – Find a way that you can help others, especially if you feel like crap yourself. Helping others creates this amazing oozing of positive emotion in us that’s make you feel just so damn good!
Go Into Nature – Now, I’m not saying you need to go “HUG A TREE”. What I am saying is that being in nature is such a revitalizing, decalcifying experience that you’ll likely come walk right into loving your life, or at least get insight into HOW it is that you’re meant to do so.

The tips are simple – Implementing them however, is the part that requires slightly more effort on your part.

So ask yourself today, do you love the life you lead? If not, what are you committed to doing to make a positive change in your life. Many of the folks that I now work with and mentor worked long, unrewarding hours in professions they really were not passionate about. They wanted to find a purpose (greater than themselves), they wanted to contribute but didn’t know how they would be able to at the same time as paying the bills, living their life, raising their kids etc… and they’re now doing that.

That’s what Loving The Life You Lead is all about.

A Quick Rant…

Now, I totally GET that there’s been some serious “crapolla” that has happened during 2010. I seriously get that. There have been earthquakes, tsunami’s, job losses etc etc etc. That’s happened. It’s in the past. So… NEXT?

A positive future…

With cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudel (Ya know… like the Sound of Music). Well… I know… I may have taken it a bit far… but I want you to start thinking about how seriously freaking cool next year could be.

Seriously, let’s talk about a positive 2011 for you. Let’s talk about having that job you’ve always wanted, the promotion, helping that group of kids you’ve been meaning to support, finding the person of your dreams or creating the launch of your business. Your very own business based on your passion. I freaking love helping people get their goals, especially when it’s something that the person is truly passionate about. It’s like the coolest free drug in the world to help someone achieve something they desire.

So, for 2011 I’m taking even more of a stand for people who are looking to shake up their lives and get the life they truly desire. I’m SO excited about 2011. I have big personal goals. BIG BIG BIG personal goals…what about you?

Writing About Loving Life = Massive Happiness

It seems silly to write that headline above, but I just experienced a butt load of excitement when I opened my word document that I write all my blogs in prior to uploading them. I hadn’t even started writing. I didn’t even know what I was going to write about… but voila, the moment I that I saw the name of the document “Loving Life” I was filled with excitement.

So, it would seem therefore, by virtue of empirical evidence (you science buffs will hate my use of that word) that thinking about loving life (as a precursor in my case to actually writing about loving life) actually creates a process of appreciation that fills people with joy.

Thinking like I do, my natural reaction to becoming aware of my feelings is to think: “If X causes Y, and Y is a favorable event/thing, then wouldn’t you want more of X?” X, in this case, is “writing about loving life” and “Y” is “massive appreciation”, so of course you want more of that! ESPECIALLY, given the masses of documents that show that appreciation, or in other words “gratitude”, brings waves of positive circumstances including more wealth. So, my final conclusion in this instance is that I’m going to write a butt load more about loving life. It brings me waves of awesome feelings… and maybe even a bit of extra cash (tongue in cheek of course).

Loving Life – It Really Is Possible :)

Happiness, Passion, Joy, Love and Ecstasy… Some pretty powerful words, right? They’re the type of words that often conjure up an “I wish” type reaction, or even “Yeah right!” I have heard these words countless times during my time in the personal development, self-improvement and coaching industries. We, as humans, are sadly pessimistic. We hear of infinite possibilities, of unlimited potential and of rags to riches type stories and meet these scenarios with a “yeah it’s ok for them” type response.

But, what if…?

What if you (yes YOU reading this article) could actually live the life of your dreams? What if you could actually do that thing you’ve always wanted to do? What if you could be the person you’ve always wanted to be???

I have a question for you…Why not MAKE 2011 THE YEAR THAT YOU GOT IT? Pardon my bluntness, but get over yourself if you just said “I can’t do that” or “It’s not possible for me”. Pardon my bluntness again if you’re STILL reading this and STILL thinking that you can’t have what you want!!!

I’m making a stand for you, if you won’t make it for yourself.

Get off your butt NOW, and do ONE THING (JUST ONE MEASELY THING) to make your tomorrow a better day. Write a letter, hire a coach, book a massage, call a friend, journal out that amazing business idea that’s been mulling around in your head for years! Just do one thing. Take the first step.

Happiness, Passion, Joy, Love and Ecstasy are can all be yours. You really can Love The Life You Lead. Make 2011 your year.

Living A Dixie Chicks Life

Whether you like ‘em or not, the Dixie Chicks are a group of ‘gals who know what they are passionate about, know how to get it and act in accordance with a strong set of personal values. Strong statement, I know.

I’ve just finished watching “Shut Up and Sing” which is a documentary that showcases the road the Dixie Chicks traveled after their lead singer, Natalie, commented that she was embarrassed that the president of the USA was from the same state as her during the days leading up to USA’s occupation of Iraq. This blog is not about “right or wrong”. It’s about passion and sticking to your guns through thick and thin.

After Natalie’s comment sales of Dixie Chicks records plummeted and people from all across America who used to love ‘em threw away their CDs, made some pretty hurtful comments… and at worst made death threats. The girls were passionate about music – their music – and this kept them going.

Watching the documentary really made me think of the values and the fortitude it sometimes takes to do things in life that you know is right for you. Sometimes the odds feel very stacked up against you. Sometimes it just doesn’t go as you planned.

Here’s the point though. Dixie Chicks are freaking good at singing and entertaining (irrespective of whether you actually LIKE their music, you can at least recognize this fact). Now, they even with all the odds stacked against them, they pursued their passion. They stood for what they believed in. They wrote songs they wanted to write and best of all, they didn’t cower to a record company. They rebuilt their in non traditional means.

Pursing a life filled where you get to live and work your absolute passion may not always be fluffy pillows and chocolate bon bons but why not take a lesson from the Dixie Chicks songbook. Be resilient, stay true to yourself and stand your course.
